Cohasset Town
Cohasset sits right at the intersection of Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay. It is a smaller, more intimate town than many of the other South Shore towns. However, it is just as beautiful and picturesque.
On the southwestern part of Cohasset, you will find Wompatuck State Park and The Whitney & Thayer Wood Reservation. There are three beaches for you to enjoy as well as a bird sanctuary and a yacht club.

A Little Cohasset History
It was in 1614 that Cohasset was first discovered. It was found as Captain John Smith explored the New England coast. First settled in 1670, it became a town separate from Hingham 100 years later, in 1770.
Derived from the Algonquian word Conahasset, which means “long rocky place”, the town was named Cohasset. This name adequately describes the rocky shores in this town.

Though these homes are aged, they have a special charm that you won’t find anywhere else. You can’t have good shopping without good food. They literally go hand in hand. Once you are done shopping up and down Main Street, head over to 5 Main Street and enjoy one of the best sandwiches in town; they also serve beer, wine, soup, salad, pasta, and a host of entrees.
