A Little Duxbury History

Myles Standish and John Alden are credited with being the first pilgrims to settle Duxbury in 1624. A few years later, in 1637, Myles Standish took it upon himself to name the area Duxbury, after a place in his home town of Lancashire, Great Britain.

Today, Duxbury is a thriving residential community with a village atmosphere.
